2017 Winter Holiday Indoor Soccer Bash Tournament Rules

Tournament winner will be determined by the most points earned through round-robin play.

If two teams are tied in point value at the end of round robin play head to head competition will be used as the tie breaker.

If the score is tied at the end of regulation a 2 v 2 (1+GK,) 5 minute, golden goal mini game will be played. Play will begin with a drop ball at midfield. No substitution will be allowed during the run of play of a mini game. If the score remains tied at the end of the first mini game, mini games will continue to be played until a winner is determined.

Game Start Time & Details:
Games will start at their scheduled start time and/or when the allocated warm-up time is up, will be at the referee or on site official's discretion. Once the warm-up time has expired, teams should be ready to begin play and clock will start. The game clock will begin regardless of the readiness of teams, so please be prepared and stretched when you take the field and teams exiting please be courteous and have post-game talks once you have vacated the bench area so that next team may maximize time. A minimum of 4 rostered players are needed to begin a game. Failure to do will result in a 3 point win for the opposing team.

All Free Kicks Are Direct:

Turkey Penalty Kick - if foul is committed within defending team's goalkeeper area by defending team the kick will be that of a turkey pk

All defenders will give 3 yards on free kicks; any attempt deemed as a deliberate act to impede or slow down the game could result in caution and penalty time; any free kick aimed at a player in a malicious manner will be subject to caution and penalty time or dismissal.

Each team will get 5 seconds to take the free kick after ball is placed correctly. If team does not get kick off within the allotted time, the referee MAY allow other team to take over possession.

Placement of Free Kicks and restarts.

All kicks will be placed at nearest playable point of foul; per referee.

If ball goes out of the field of play or hits the net, it will be placed at nearest point within 1 yard of wall.

If any ball hits the ceiling area or any object hanging from it, a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team at their attacking 3rd line/dot.

Corner Kicks or goal kicks will be awarded if ball hits the netting on each end of field according to which team last touches the ball and will be placed at the respective designated area.

The team that doesn't kickoff to start the game will start the 2nd half with a kick at midfield. TEAM'S WILL SWITCH SIDES AT HALFTIME.

Goalkeepers:
-
The ball can't go past midfield in the air if the ball comes from a goal-kick or out of the keepers hands via throw or drop to feet

Punts or drop-kicks are not allowed.

Sliding is permitted for goalkeepers only in the designated area, but should not be in a variety that would put other players in danger

There must be one designated goalkeeper at all times and they must wear a color differentiating them from all other players and referee

Keeper can sub just like any other player, but play will not stop

May not pick the ball up if it is played by their team. This will result in the ball being placed at the nearest point outside of the GK area and a kick awarded to the opposing team.

Goalkeepers who win possession of the ball with the hands have 5 seconds to play out of their hands. If they don't, the opposing team will be awarded a free kick at the nearest yellow dot. If the GK releases the ball to his or her self, they may not pick the ball up again or kick the ball beyond midfield.

Sliding is not allowed if there is opposing player within playing distance or of the ball; this foul will be at the referee's discretion and will be interpreted in order to keep ALL players safe and will not be called a foul if there are no players that will be put in any sort of risk as a result

Handballs: a handball will only be called if there is intent per newly published FIFA rules and at the referee's discretion

Subbing:

Player coming off the field must be within 3 yards of their teams door before the other player may enter the field

Player entering the field of play may not disrupt play until the player exiting is completely off field. This will result in turnover in possession.

Each team will receive a verbal warning for first violation; if there is a second violation, the player entering illegally is subject to penalty time per referees discretion

Fouls will be at referee's discretion. Please make sure your team is aware that they need to be extremely careful around the boards.

Wall: players may not use the wall to gain leverage or any advantage. A quick balance check will be allowed per referee's discretion.

Only the players that have signed the liability waiver are allowed to participate in the tournament. No guest players allowed.

Cards/Penalty Box - Yellow and Red cards will be given per FIFA Laws of the Game. First yellow card infringement will be penalized with two minutes in the penalty box and second yellow card will cost player/team four minutes in the penalty box. Time will continue into next quarter if need be. The team whose player is given penalty time will be playing down that number of players until time is served. Player will be allowed by referee to rejoin game when time is up, per referee, or once the opposing team has scored a goal. Red Card offenses will result in that player's dismissal from that game.

Equipment:

NO CLEATS ALLOWED; soft soled shoes or turfs only.

Shin guards MUST be worn at all times on field.

Goal Keepers must wear jersey color must be "unique" to the teams playing and opposing GK.

Home team is responsible for having an alternate jersey in the event the referee deems the colors are not easy to distinguish.

Goal Line / Score: the ball must completely cross the goal line before time expires in order to count

All Other Areas: of the game not covered by this document will be subject to FIFA Laws and/or referees discretion

No Appeals or Protests. The decision of the referee is final.

Respect and integrity should be displayed at all times by all teams regardless of score, which should encompass using good judgment in unbalanced team scenarios during games Please respect the indoor facility and all related Please pick up after yourself and make sure your children do the same SPECTATING PARENTS: CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES Players are allowed to play on one team within their division Blatant disrespect of circumvention of the rules will not be tolerated.
League will reserve the right to change any rules and regulations at any time to improve the environment of play and in response to any mutations, ambiguity, void, or deliberate circumvention rules.
